Winnaar Self-Sustaining Creative Economy Award

De winnaar van de Self-Sustaining Creative Economy Award is Freedom Coop, een project van FairCoop voor een legale tool voor een integrale revolutie.

Kunstenaars Núria Güell en Levi Orta lanceerden de Self Sustaining Creative Economy Award als onderdeel van hun tentoonstelling Triggering imbalance bij Arts Santa Mònica (Barcelona, mei-juli 2015) en was onderdeel van hun werkperiode bij FLACC. De prijs wil de sociale waarden van de artistieke creatie bevorderen en verspreiden binnen het domein van het maatschappelijk nut. Binnen de context van hun project Degenerated political Art, the Patrons Debt creëerden zij de open call voor de Self-Sustaining Creative Economy Award, met een prijs van €9.500 om het winnende project te implementeren.

De open call was in samenwerking met Fundació Banc Sabadell, Arts Santa Mònica en FLACC. In totaal werden 15 Europese projecten ingezonden.

De legale tool voor een integrale revolutie

Het Freedom Coop project is een innovatieve Europese juridische tool die organisaties de vrijheid geeft buiten de gangbare economische en financiële controlerende systemen te werken. Het heeft tot doel eerlijkere sociale relaties aan te gaan en duurzame ontwikkeling door publieke ongehoorzaamheid en zelfmanagement te promoten.

Freedom Coop probeert sociale verandering te weeg te brengen door op drie verschillende gebieden te interfereren:
-Een juridische tool voor sociale en door community gerunde bewegingen: FREEDOM COOP VAT number
-Het bevorderen van economische ongehoorzaamheid door heel Europa
-Een alternatief bieden voor bankieren om zo meer autonomie te realiseren

De jury voor de Self-Sustaining Creative Economy Award kwam samen op 7 januari 2016 en bestond uit Jaume Reus (directeur van Arts Santa Mònica), Núria Güell en Levi Orta (de kunstenaars die de award hebben opgericht), Dídac S. Costa (eco-socioloog en specialist in sociale economie) en Luuk Nouwen (artistiek leider van FLACC).

Onder “Self-sustaining creative economy”-project valt elk initiatief dat artistieke creativiteit benut voor een economisch doel met sociale toepassingen, zonder specifiek door een kunstenaar bedacht hoeven te zijn. Deze projecten moeten pogen sociale ontwikkelingsstrategieën te herdefiniëren buiten de in Europa gangbare economische en financiële regelsystemen om.

FairCoop is een open wereldwijde coöperatie, is zelf georganiseerd via het internet en opereert buiten de grenzen en controles van naties. Een transformatie tot een nieuwe wereld door het reduceren van economische en sociale ongelijkheden en tegelijk bijdragen aan een nieuwe globale rijkdom die eerlijk verdeeld is over de mensheid zijn haar doelen.

FairCoop gelooft dat de transformatie naar een eerlijker monetair systeem is een cruciaal element om hun doelen te bereiken. Daarom promoot het de cryptovaluta Faircoin als basis voor een herdistributie van middelen en de constructie van een nieuw globaal economisch systeem.

Winner Self-Sustaining Creative Economy Award

The winner of the Self-Sustaining Creative Economy Award is FREEDOM COOP. The legal tool for the integral revolution, a project by FairCoop.

The call for entries for this award was launched by the artists Núria Güell and Levi Orta, in the context of the exhibition Triggering imbalance organized at Arts Santa Mònica (May-July 2015) as part of the exhibition cycle Shots in the Middle of the Concert and is part of their workplace project at FLACC, with the aim of promoting the values of artistic creation and extending them into the sphere of social utility. In the context of their project Degenerated political Art, the Patrons Debt they created a call for entries for the Self-Sustaining Creative Economy Award open to European proposals, with an award of 9,500 euros to be put towards implementing the winning project.

As an artistic project, this call for entries was in conjuction with the Fundació Banc Sabadell, FLACC and Arts Santa Mònica. A total of fifteen entries for European projects were presented in response to the call.

The FairCoop legal tool for the integral revolution

The Freedom Coop project is an innovative European legal tool intended to provide freedom of operations from economic and financial controls. It aims to foster fairer social relationships and sustainable development through disobedience and self-management.
FREEDOM COOP aims to create social change through three different areas of intervention:

- A legal tool for social and community movements: FREEDOM COOP’s VAT number
- The spread of economic disobedience all over Europe
- An alternative to banking for the sake of complete autonomy

The panel for the Self-Sustaining Creative Economy Award, which met on 7 January 2016, was formed by Luuk Nouwen (artistic director of FLACC, Genk, Belgium), Jaume Reus (director of Arts Santa Mònica, Barcelona), Núria Güell and Levi Orta (the artists who created the award) and Dídac S. Costa (ecosociologist and specialist in alternative economy)

With the aim of promoting the values of artistic creation and extending them into the sphere of social utility, the artists Núria Güell and Levi Orta launched the call for entries for the Self-Sustaining Creative Economy Award, with a prize of 9,500 euros to go toward implementing the winning project.

A self-sustaining creative economy project is taken to mean any initiative, not necessarily artist-conceived, that harnesses artistic creativity for an economic purpose and has social applications.

FairCoop is an open cooperative on a global scale which is self-organized via the Internet, operating outside the boundaries and control of nation-states. Its aim is to make the transition toward a new world, by reducing the economic and social inequalities among human beings as much as possible, while gradually contributing to a new global wealth accessible to all humankind in the form of the commons.

FairCoop believes that the transformation to a fairer monetary system is a crucial element along that road. That is why it promotes the cryptocurrency Faircoin as the foundation for its efforts toward the redistribution of resources and the construction of a new global economic system.
