FLACC investeert in een 3D platform

Vele kunstenaars vonden hun weg al naar FLACC voor de mogelijkheid tot experiment en creatie in onze werkplaatsen. Om hen nog beter van dienst te zijn kreeg de digitale studio van FLACC de voorbije jaren een aantal updates. Het printplatform werd uitgerust met 2 nieuwe printers (Epson 9900 en Epson 4900) en de ruimte werd uitgerust met normlicht. Daarnaast bouwen we aan een 3D platform. Het platform richt zich op het scannen van objecten en hun nabewerking. Hiervoor staat een Artec Eva kleurscanner en een begeleider ter beschikking van de kunstenaars. De Artec kleurenscanner werkt met witlicht en is een handscanner waarmee objecten van een gemiddelde grootte gescand kunnen worden. Indien verdere modelling noodzakelijk is kan dat ook binnen de digitale studio van FLACC. Het 3D platform richt zich op diverse toepassingen waaronder 3D printen, animatie...

Na een korte introductie van 3 uur is het mogelijk om zelf aan de slag te gaan. In de opstartfase is het voor kunstenaars mogelijk om aan 5 Euro/uur te komen 3D scannen in de digitale studio van FLACC.

Naast bovenstaande updates is het net zoals in het verleden mogelijk om in de digitale studio je fotografische beelden te digitaliseren en verwerken, op groot formaat te printen, te werken aan publicaties en te monteren.

FLACC invests in a 3D platform

Many artists have already found their way to FLACC to make full use of the opportunities for experimentation and creation in our workshops. In order to provide them with an even better service, the digital studio at FLACC has over the years been given various updates. The print platform was equipped with two new printers (Epson 9900 and Epson 4900) and the studio room was fitted with proof lighting. In addition, we are now setting up a 3D platform for object scanning and post-processing. Artists now have an Artec Eva colour scanner and a technical supervisor at their disposal. The Artec colour scanner uses white light and is a handheld device suited for the scanning of objects of average size. Post-process modelling can also be performed in the digital studio at FLACC. After a brief three-hour introduction, users are ready to start on their own. During this initial phase of the platform setup, artists can use the 3D scanner in the digital studio at FLACC for 5 Euros/hour.

Aside from these updates, it remains possible, as it was in the past, to use the digital studio to digitize and process your photographic images, make large format prints, lay-out your publications or edit video.
