Currents is an annual group exhibition, showcasing works by recently graduated artists from art academies in Belgium, Germany, and the southern Netherlands. The exhibition is at Marres (NL) or Z33 (BE) and will be embedded in a broader guidance trajectory in which training, networking and professionalization are central. Marres and Z33 jointly present the exhibition Currents #7 and FLACC strengthens the project by a workplace project for 4 selected artists. These artists are Jonas Dehnen, Justine Court, Israel Aten and Jonathan De Maeyer.
In the months October and November the 4 selected artists are staying for 3 weeks at FLACC. The focus is on deepening the artistic qualities of the work, feedback and broadening the professional network of the artists. Some will develop their work further to be presented at Currents#7 while others start with a new body of work.
Currents #7: Birds of a Feather is curated by Louis-Philippe Van Eeckhoutte and Melanie Deboutte. The exhibition is running from March 14th till April 26th. See www.z33.be for more info.
