Antonio Vega Macotela at the 34th Bienal de São Paulo
At the biennial Antonio Vega Macotela shows works that are the result of the research The Q’aquchas Ballade that he started during his stay at FLACC and CIAP. Parts of this research have been previously shown at CIAP and the Taipei Biennial 2020. At the São Paulo Biennial is work on display by FLACC artists Ximena Garrido-Lecca, Vincent Meessen and Daniel de Paula. The biennial can be visited till 5 december.
Marjolijn Dijkman at Edith Russ Haus, Nome Gallery and X-Festival
Marjolijn Dijkmans film project Depth of Discharge is simultaneously on display at Shifting Axis (solo show Edith Russ Haus, Germany, 27 October till 2 January 2022), Electrify Everything (solo show Nome Gallery, Germany, till 12 november). The X-Festival (University Hasselt, Belgium, 20 – 29 October) shows a teaser.
Mirthe Klück at Fred & Ferry Gallery
At the Antwerp gallery Fred & Ferry opened on 24 October the solo show Moon White Rabbit by Mirthe Klück. The show includes works that Klück realized at FLACC and is part of an ongoing research on the material relation between ceramics and painting.
Ariane Loze
The Brussels Museum van Elsene / Musée d'Ixelles has acquired the work Kolumba by Ariane Loze. This film project is part of a larger series of works in which religion and humanism are central. The project was realized with the support of Kolumba (Cologne).
Áine McBride at The Douglas Hyde Gallery
In 2020 and 2021 McBride realized a series of photographic works and a series of works in ceramics at FLACC. Some of the photographic work will be shown from 29 October at The Douglas Hyde Gallery in Dublin in the group exhibition From Here To There: Art in Process. The exhibition features work by David Lunney, Katie Watchorn and Áine McBride.
Marianne Berenhaut at CIAP & C-mine
Marianne Berenhaut’s body of work, spanning over five decades and still expanding, eludes any attempt at a summary. It cannot ever be explained or fully grasped; it needs to be seen, experienced and felt to the bone. The exhibition at CIAP and C-mine presents a subjective choice from this generous oeuvre. The exhibition can be visited till 16 january 2022.
