Samson Young (b. 1979) lives and works in Hong Kong. He received an M.Phil in music composition, University of Hong Kong (2007), and PhD in music composition from Princeton University (2013). Recent solo exhibitions include A Dark Theme Keeps Me Here, I’ll Make Broken Music, Kunsthalle Dusseldorf, Germany (2016); One of Two Stories, or Both (Field Bagatelles), Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art, Manchester, UK, (2017); and Songs for Distaster Relief World Tour, M+ Pavilion, Hong Kong (2018). Young represented Hong Kong at the 57th Venice Biennale (2017).
