Sarah Hermans (1990) works and lives in Hasselt, Belgium. She received her MA in Photography from Sint-Lukas School of Arts Brussels in 2015. In her work she uses both the still and moving image.
Sarah extensively captures her immediate surroundings. She makes images to see what can emerge from them and how they can be used to create a photographic landscape. The images are not preconceived or constructed, but arise in moments in which both subject and photographer find their place. Within this way of working, the choice for a particular technical format plays an important role, as every technique entails a specific way of looking at and relating to the world.
