Rebecca Lenaerts (1980, GB) studied art history and theater studies at the University of Ghent and the Free University (Berlin). Followed by a study of Performing Arts at the RITS (Brussels) and the University of the Arts (Berlin).

Based on travel, memories, and heritage (art) historical sources, such as slides, Lenaerts create new fictions. She combines fact and fiction to create a new and compelling story with an almost childlike imagination. The visual and audible are brought together in a single theatrical entity, this process is as important as the result. Her artistic research often departs from an art school project to use this input to produce a socially relevant result.
