Making FABless printmaking system

We lost something but we don't know what we lost.

Looking back in the history of printmaking, printmaking gave a broader range of readers and viewers access to knowledge and enabled later generations to build directly on the intellectual achievements of earlier ones without the changes arising within verbal traditions. Printmaking was instrumental in changing the nature of reading within society. In FLACC, I would like to make a new series of woodcut print (titled “The drowned world”) using a laser-cutting machine (collaboration with FABcafe and/or FABlab at Art academies). My woodcut print is made by “self-taken photo”, “self-carved” and “self-printed” but I would like to create a new system of printmaking. This is FABless printmaking which is “others-taken photo”, “others-carved” and “others-printed”. I am very interested in between self-creation and others-creation. The identity of printmaking is always faltering between them. This is one of reason why printmaking places on low position in the contemporary art market. I think printmaking contains very important and universal philosophical questions when I see it as an image creative media. It is involved in our existence and . Why the medium of printmaking was born? I think it is because we want to tell, report, teach and transmit as many people as possible important things. If so, we should go back to the origin and we must think about what we want to tell for the future now.

We lost something but we don't know what we lost.
Here is future and past.
