The young documentary-maker Jozef Devillé (b. 1979, Halle) ) started shooting this documentary in the summer of 2005 at the invitation of FLACC and in the framework of the municipal art-commissioning policy of Genk. The idea was to make a contemporary record of the city. The product, which goes by the title of 3600, De ruimte, de kracht (‘3600, The space, the power’, in which the numbers are the Genk postal code) is an intense film in which the maker portrays more than fifty individuals and organisations from Genk. The documentary’s release will take place in Euroscoop Genk on 18 January. It will be screened during FLACC’s OPEN HOUSE and in the Genk library.
