The work of Daniel Frota de Abreu combines sculpture, video and publication in installations that establish aesthetic and political relations with its context. His practice brings together sculptural gestures and issues addressed by the history of science, anthropology and speculative fiction. In that sense, the artist works with the circulation and deterioration of materials, investigating communication failures and limits of legibility.

Recently shown work at MAK Center for Art and Architecture, Los Angeles, (2019); Fundação Iberê Camargo, Porto Alegre (2018); auroras, São Paulo (2018); Galerie Thézé, Angers (2018); Paço das Artes / MIS-SP, São Paulo (2017); Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin (2016); Musée des Confluences, Lyon (2016); Videobrasil Festival, São Paulo, BR (2015), amongst others.
