Born in Tokyo, Japan in 1978. He studied at Royal College of Art in London in 2003 - 2005, as well as at Musashino Art University in Tokyo in 1998 - 2002. Since graduating, he participated several international residencies such as Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam and Cité internationale des Arts in Paris. He has shown internationally, including recent solo shows Gallery YUKI-SIS, Tokyo (2013), Artify Gallery, Hong Kong (2013), ASPN Gallery, Leipzig (2013)and ISE Cultural Foundation, New York (2012). His work has also been included in the group shows in The Courtauld Institute of Art, London (2012), Royal Academy of Arts, London (2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2007), Kloster Bentlage (2012). His work was featured in Paul Coldwell’s key publication ‘Printmaking: A Contemporary Perspective’ in 2010 and has entered numerous public collections including Victoria and Albert Museum, Museum der bildenden Künste Leipzig and New York Public Library. In 2011, he won two major UK printmaking prizes: the Towry Print Prize at the RA Summer Exhibition, and the Northern Print Prize.
