Sergej Titov

Titov, who is studying in Enschede (NL),Media Art at the Aki/ArtEZ Akademy, explores behaviour by means of home-made musical instruments. What is most important is not the musical output but the social interaction between the different players of the instruments. Because of the design of the instruments and required technique, nobody can play them to a high standard (everyone is a beginner), so accessible installations are created in which the public plays an active role. The instruments are very appealing and cry out to be played. Electric and acoustic go hand in hand. Differences seem to evaporate along with social status and class and everyone becomes an equal.
