Loreta Visic

Loreta Visic graduated from the Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts and from the Higher Institute of Fine Arts (HISK) in Antwerp. In 2001 she won the Young Belgian Painters Award.

Loreta Visic incorporates what happens to her in life into her work in a highly individual manner. She is well aware of the delicate balance between the familiar and the strange and how they relate to each other. You only have insight into the one when you can see the other as well. This awareness is also reflected in her unusual manipulation of materials.
